Youth Advocacy & Leadership
Teaches community organizing skills to youth to strengthen their leadership capacity.
Youth learn how to conduct community assessments, asset mapping, and community needs assessments.
Youth co-lead discussions and design strategies to improve their communities.
Tutoring & Mentorship
We provide homework assistance and tutoring twice each week to youth ages 15-19 who are facing challenges with schoolwork in any subject.
Our tutors also serve as mentors to Visionary Youth students to nourish social and emotional growth.
We encourage students to bring any questions they have about college preparation to their tutors, who are also university students.
College Workshops & Visits
We welcome both adults and youth interested in navigating higher education and starting an educational plan.
Topics include financial aid, AB540, A-G, University of California road map, differences between public and private universities, and career paths.
Youth participate in all-day youth college conferences and tours at universities such as USC, UCLA, and LMU.
Activities include workshops on college readiness, college life, and financial aid.
University administrators and students facilitate the workshops.
